Warzone 2100 renaissance : new version

Une nouvelle version de warzone 2100 est disponible.
Au menu de cette release :

• Don't terminate on a bad/corrupted save game, instead reload the main menu.
• Add the original sound track.
• Force software "accelerated" OpenAL for Windows XP users to prevent audio "clogging" issues (ticket:115).
• When new games are created in the lobby make sure to remove the "NO GAMES ARE AVAILABLE" message (bug #12399).
• Prevent the "return" key from being mistaken for enabling chat mode if it has just been pressed to save a game (r6132, r6191)
• Disable multi turret support.
• Fix the laser satellite such that it does hit droids correctly.
• Verify the versions of pkg-config, xgettext and msgfmt in the configure script instead of autogen.sh.

Pour rappel, warzone 2100 est un RTS de chez EIDOS, qui en a libéré les sources depuis des années, et depuis leurs, de nombreux fans n'ont eu de cesse de l'améliorer et de le maintenir.

Warzone 2100 est un jeu de stratégie en temps réel développé par Pumpkin Studios et publié par Eidos Interactive. Précurseur de Earth 2150, il contient des éléments uniques pour l’époque. Ceci inclus différentes technologies de radars, un jeu axé sur les véhicules et la balistique, de fréquentes cinématiques en fonction de l'avancement dans la partie, différentes méthodes de construction de véhicules. Il est sorti en 1999 sur Windows et PlayStation, en mai 2000 le développeur Pivotal Games a repris le maintien du jeu. Enfin une version nettoyée a été publiée le 7 décembre 2004 sous GPL, ce qui fait de lui le premier jeu de stratégie en temps réel commercial à être devenu un logiciel libre. Son passage en licence libre suivit de sa reprise par une communauté de développeurs présents, passionnés et volontaires lui vaut désormais le titre de Warzone 2100 Resurrection. Ce qui le distingue encore aujourd'hui de la majorité des autres jeux de stratégie en temps réel, c'est sa capacité à composer soi même ses unités, permettant des milliers de variantes. Une autre approche originale est la conservation de tous les paramètres entre les missions de la campagne. Ainsi vous conservez vos unités (avec leur expérience), votre base, vos technologies, et progressez réellement entre chaque niveau sans devoir tout reconstruire comme dans la plupart des autres jeux du genre.
